Hello my Shai friends,

I had spoken to a few fellow Shais before, and I heard that many of our Shais are struggling in the Hadum areas- not being able to grind effectively. While I agree with everything everyone said about how Shai is not in the best place at the moment and that PA really needs to do something to help us, especially in PVE, I didn't think my Shai was too bad compare to other classes in Hadum. (but I just wasn't too sure what is "average" trash, I only went off what some of my friends with similar gear told me) I had initially replied to an older post saying that I was pulling comparable trash with other classes at Bandits, but never really tried Orcs, so I said I would do some testing and let everyone know how it was. I had done about 20 hours at Orcs so far, and here is what I got as a 281 IV Kutum Shai . Please keep in mind, I only recorded trash amount when I got NO WEAPONS at all for 1 whole hour. I feel that it is the most accurate way to compare results, since weapons have too many variables, even a different color weapon will give diff affensive stats at Orcs. 

So here are the results:

- First 5 hours, I was not doing great at all....pulling about 4K at Orcs

- By about the 10th hour, I was pulling around 5K

- After another 5 hours or so I finally made my mark at ~ 6K with blue scroll with no weapons at all!! I was really happy! So I was able to pull consistently around 6K the last few hours (with no weapons).

- With a couple of weapons, the most I pulled was around 7K. (but I didn't count those times, as they are inconsistent, also still working on a good extension to do after getting weapon)

During my improvement with the grind, I had tried MANY different combinations in terms of skill Add-Ons, Elixirs, Food Buff, etc. I also tried many different way to pull mobs to improve. So finally I have decided on the current set up that gives me the most trash. Anyways, please comment on this post to let me know what you think of my trash at Orcs compare to other Shais, I would really like to know some feedback and share the experience with you. If you think I am pulling good trash, I am happy to share my tips. If you think my trash is dogpoo, please also tell me, I would LOVE to learn from you and try new things to improve!! :)

No one is asking how much your tagged guardian can pull.

If you want to brag about your guardian, go and post on the guardian forum.

I posted to compare trash with other Shais, because some of us still grind on of Shais, not everyone has to tag a guardian just to grind.

If you want to share your Shai trash, you are more than welcome to post.

If not....please don't post something that is sarcastic and demeaning to other Shais

I haven't done much Orcs, but I run a Naga spot with just adv loot scroll(only kind I own) I pull between 7-8k/h there. Last time I was 280 tet kut. node lvl 0. Getting a weapon at my spot doesn't change it much though cause I have to slow down or the commanders won't spawn minions.

I haven't tested since hitting 282 Pen Kut. But likely not going to make more as I'm already clearing packs in my rotation as they spawn.

4K with yellow scroll is definitely too low. I am also 281 Kut. My trash with yellow scroll is at least 8K per hour. Mostly around 9K.

It has a lot to do with addon, rotation, pull, and crystals. The other really really important thing is skill rotation, buffs and debuff mechanics. From my personal experience, please do not just rely on Misty Haze, especially after they removed pcoket. Pocket should never be used during solo grind anyway, for many reasons.

One big suggestion I make at Orcs or any solo grind spot is- you have to use Msity Haze every second pack, in between you need to add in z buff, e buff, leave buff, or both. this rotation of buffs/debuffs will ensure you are killing mobs as fast as you can in every pack. From my experience at Orcs, using misty haze or e buff + leave or z buff +leave will pretty much let you kill every pack using same amount of time. If misty haze's cooldown is already refreshed when you go to the next pack, means that clearing is too slow and soemthing is not done correctly.

Also Shai is definitely not worst grinder, still one of the good ones :)

Are most of the mobs still red/purple while you are grinding?  I'm just wondering if you still have an accuracy penalty against them, and thus if hitting 63 on your Shai will improve your grind ability.

It's good to finally see some rotations and sharing of useful information for grinding as Shai, too much of the internet is just "Shai only life skill, you no need skills and gear"...  I'm not quite geared enough yet myself to do orcs, but I thank you for not only doing this experimenting, but also being willing to attempt to change the minds of the community as to the viability of this class.  It is cooperation between us all that makes us better.

Thanks for the comment. Getting to level 63 is not necessary, lvl 62 is more than enough for Hadum grind. 

I have a new break through with grind Orcs with Shai, I have changed to the new rotation now, and I have finally exceeded 8K on yellow scroll with no weapons at all on same gear. The most I ever got was close to 11k with a few weapon drops with yellow scroll. 

I just got a new gear upgrade on my character today, now made it to the 285 AP bracket Kutum. Going to be trying out some grinding with both my Shai and Succ DK. Lets see what will happen in terms of trash and will give another update here soon.

9.3K yellow scroll (with no weapon and boss)

~10K with 1 weapon

Quite happy I am still making slow improvements with more hours in.

Excited for the new PVE changes, will test again :)
