You had a chance to make other fishing spots in the game worthwhile to fish at.  As it stands now, the only spots worth fishing at are velia, hakoven, and starry midnight port.  You can probably add in mediah sea around altinova, and byukgye island.

Almost all of the new prize fish added are way too rare to make any other spot worthwhile to fish at.

Looking at Hakoven, Mediah Sea, and Velia (all the same for these 2 fish), you have a 5% prize catch rate (with 2000 fishing mastery), then within that 5% you have a 30% rate at yellow corvina and 10% rate at blue bat stars, with most of the remaining 60% being relic shards, and a crap % at the new prize fish in these zones.

At Byukgye Island you get a decent rate on bigfin reef squids, plus 0 to 2 southern rough shrimp per night.  Overall it's not horrible once you sell at Valencia.

These zones you can average 70 to 100 mil per hour.

Now let's look at Lake Flondor, where they added the 1 mil Pink Dolphin.  You probably average 150 to 300 mil per night there.  It's horrible.  The catch rate for the pink dolphin is equivalent to Elten piece drop rate.

Pretty much every other zone, you just threw in some ultra rare bone.  It would have been much better to throw in more low value prize fish that you can realistically catch 1 to 2+ per hour (like the yellow corvina and blue bat stars).  The idea should have been to spread people out.  We already had like 75% of afk fishers in velia, now it's even worse.  Everyone is either in Velia or fishing for that migaloo fish, and can't blame them because those are the only spots that make decent money.

And let's point this out..  the safe zones should NOT be the best money spots for fishing.

They need to get rid of the entire abundancy mechanic and learn how to actually balance drop rates.

But then again, PA has demonstrated innumerable times over the past 10 years that they don't have the slightest clue in hell how their own RNG algorithms even work.

I have 26,000 hours in this game and this will be my first comment:

I like the idea of going on a world tour of fishing; that's better than what I had asked for. But the rarity is extreme and makes fishing for them not worth it. I did not expect to fish for months to catch nothing.

I have been fishing for years and I just wanted to catch new rare fish here and there every day, or every other day? It wasn't really about the money for me. Perhaps some new lesser-value prize fish could be added everywhere as well!

I have guru 37 fishing with 2270 mastery and - except for an hour or two a day - I have been fishing since the prize catch update, ~4 months ago. I finally caught my 3rd prize catch last night. If I hadn't caught that, I'd have captured only a migaloo and a beltfish.

A month went by with me fishing - OFTEN MANUALLY - at the prize fishing spots and I still never caught one.  Some people had caught one, but not me. And they were mostly in Velia catching beltfish. This is not what I expected at all. You made Velia even better, lmao.

I got 'up arrows' thanks to the double value of all fish, but for the prize fish, it is extremely disappointing. My pure enthusiasm about the prize fishing update quickly turned to resentment.

I hope you will consider some tweaks, thanks.

I hear you.  Who the hell wants to fish for a month straight at Ibellab Oasis catching nothing but trash and green fish while hoping to get that seemingly non-existent rainbow fish?  Throwing a 900 mil fish in a trash spot isn't going to make that spot a better fishing spot..

They really should make it so as your fishing rank and mastery goes up these other spots become more lucrative.

It's sad that the main spots with any money are almost exclusively the ones you mentioned as it goes against the very idea of fishing.

The further you rank up, the more mastery you stack, and the farther off the beaten path you go should be rewarding, not punishing.

I don't fish at any of the spots you mention, and I catch 500m-1b every night.  Usually hit right at the average, around 700m, around 6-7 hours.  2400 mastery.  There's a choice between getting poor catches but a better shot at a treasure fish, or getting good regular catches with a lower chance for treasure fish, and that's just good design in my opinion.

Pink Dolphins are for title chasers, not money.  If you stop tunnel-visioning on silver, a lot of this makes much more sense.

You're fishing at a spot with 10% blue bats and 30% yellow corvina.  If not, the only other spots to get that much on average without getting a lucky prize catch would be LOML waters catching bigfin reef squids and shimp.  This is exactly what I mentioned in the first post.

The 10% blue bat/30% yellow corvina spots always existed.  That's not something new.  So again, tell me where else besides these spots is "good money on average"?

Swing and a miss, not a blue bat/corvina spot.  No, I'm not telling you where I fish, find your own spot, that's half the fun anyway.  Be curious about the game, do a different spot every night, get off the beaten path.

K, don't waste my time then.  I've fished at every fishing zone there is.   "I have a secret spot and I'm not telling anyone" doesn't help anyone, and certainly doesn't contribute to this thread.

Like I said...

- Any of the 10% blue bat/30% corvina spots (there's a bunch)

- LOML sea spots with shrimp squids

Anything is is dumb luck, even places like Starry Midnight Port.

And 500 mil/night isn't much...

500 is the low end, I average 700 easy.  As I stated. 1b on a good night, 4b on a great night, although I don't really figure the great nights into the average, they're too rare.  And it will stay that way as long as it stays abundant, which is why I have zero inclination to share where I fish.  You find it, great for you, you don't, great for me.
