What do you think about Sage awakening?

It is pretty clear to me that, opposed to the PvE and mass PvP succession, Sage's awakening seems oriented to 1v1 and small scale PvP. This because:

1. Grab skills are marker for 1v1 PvP.

2. Damage seems dubious in PvE, but absolutely adequate for 1v1 PvP.

3. Presence of protected openers and unprotected hard-hitting damage skills, to be used on disabled single opponents.

4. Some quite effective protected AoEs, which work well up to 3v3.

My impression is that awakening is a pretty decent set at 1v1 and small scale PvP; far from OP, but pretty ok. 

However, I have a major problem with the set as it is: it is completely unviable for any serious farming, especially when compared with succession. As such, we're left with a sub-par skillset for defending spots. It would be great if we could switch to awakening for duels, but the game doesn't allow for that, and this means that, unless I plan to go somewhere to have 1v1 fights only, I will never use the awakening.

Other "minor" problems are:

1. As noticed by others as well, Divine Executioner is completely trash, especially in PvP. Very long setup time, extremely readable, no CC and grabbable at any stage, except for the very start of the skill. The only use I see for it is repositioning in PvE, but with 2 great skills for that, plus form shift from pre-awa, it's a skill I could simply lock.

2. No sustain. Usually, Awakening sets are better at sustain than succession ones, but in this case we have no sustain at all, especially for HP. A sage in awakening is bound to drink potions like no other class, including sage in succession, which already wasn't shining on that side.

In short, I see it as a mid-way decent set in doing a thing that no sage is likely to be able to use it for, in their daily business: 1v1 PvP.

Well there is a lot of work in both succesion and (mainly) awk to make it decent.

Nowadays one comboing opponent isnt much of a problem unless he is full eva and u are ap monkey. The problem is makeing openings and enduring pressure in pvp.
Grab skills are definetly the best ones when it comes to opening BUT it has no value if u cant land a skill. There are many ranged, protected cc skills which are really deadly among fast moveing classes.
And here comes a conclusion - to be good in 1vs1 pvp the class must be fast, must be able to effectively rotate protected skills and some of them must have cc option, and it must have a grab. In some cases good i-frames + fast cc skills are enough to be really good (for example sorc). Its also good to have +%acc modifiers.

Now lets look at SAGE awk pvp wise:

- grab - check

- fast movement - lets say yes

- fast and protected movemnt - NO

- viable SA rotation + cc ability - NO

- viable i-frames - NO

- acc modifiers - mediocre

So atm SAGE awk offers no more than flashy lightnings, ping-pong game style (after few grind hours makes my head painfull) and  poor pve and 1vs1 pvp capability.

i agree it needs cc and self heal base line abilyities by default we are talking about the last ancient yet he dosent have any skills to heal or cc whiel he can use space and time magic? everyoen knows that space and time magic can cc your enemies, (time slow etc) and space and time jumping (when he use hes ability to mobilize him self) durring that period of time os teh usage of teh skill should restore X,Y % of hes HP, in sacrifice hes staminia, while he is moving with in that invisible state. sagem goes to awa as well. 

Awakened Sage is an extremely high apm class with an even higher skill ceiling. 

But the fact remains that succession completely outshines awakening. One could easily pick up and learn succession. In my personal experience.. it only took me about a few rbfs before I had a complete understanding of succession. 

Awakening on the other hand is not only very difficult to use.. its lacking in all of the important departments. No constant protection like succession(prime: rift chain). No crazy good damage skills like the ones in succession. Awakening brings nothing to the table. There is no reason to play Awakening for anything other than PvE. You cant even play it like a caster because the cooldowns are too high for your ranged skills and the abilities just tickle the enemies. 

Im really hoping the BSR, Core, and new awakening skill will really bring Awakened Sage together.. otherwise he is going to need lots and lots of buffs to get him out of the trashy state hes in. 

Some suggestions I have seen that make sense:

1. Allow rift chain to be used from awakening via hot bar or when bolt is on cooldown/ bolt to be used from pre awaken when rift chain is on cd.

2. Allow instant cast of S+E in pre awakened from awakened after certain skills(like rmb)

3. Increase the damage on Shift+f, lower the cooldown

4. Remove the stiffen on Space, add SA when overcharged

5. Lower the CD on Shift+Q, make it iframe on cast when casting the regular version

6. Allow W+F to give SA when insta casting it. 

7. Lower the Cooldown of bolt from 2 seconds to 1 or allow us to us it on cooldown at the cost of it becoming super armor.
