I remember when the game was in development, the very first video I saw stated that there is OwPvP... but yea people still claim wierd things ;)
I like PvP in games that are properly designed for PvP. BDO? Not so much. MMORPGs don't do particularly well in PvP but it can be done, it's just PA failed to make it good because it's not what they want. But this game was advertised in the beginning as a PvE game primarily, I remmeber because I was very hyped about it and watched it closely until launch. I don't think I ever noticed it saying PvP is the core concept of the game, but they did highlight it as node wars and open world PvP but it was more advertised as PvE. So, to argue this is a steakhouse PvP game, I'd argue it's a buffet. The food isn't particularly good but it can fill you up, maybe even make you sick. But it's a buffet with a lot of things to offer.
With that said, since PvP fails in this game, I'd prefer to be able to have a PvE exclusive server where duels, arena and node wars exist but not open world PvP as it's obvious this game promotes bad behaviors between players. XP would be shared between all those who attacked the enemies and of course if you're in a party everything is shared. Griefers should be punished even banned from the game entirely like they do in other MMOs. Let us lifeskillers play in peace somehow. I'd like to AFK horse train without being dismounted by a griefer and they're unknown because the name doesn't get logged. I'd like to farm with farm equipment without being shanked by a griefer and die in one shot. Of course I could use a level 49 character but I already spent like $100 decorating my shai with different costumes and extras. If I could spend $5 to turn my character back to level 49 I would. But knowing PA they'd give us that option for $90. lol PvP oriented games have severe penalties for PvP where there's adequate risk vs reward involved. BDO is tailored to reward PvP / griefers but hey, if they can fix this and even rework every class so they each have a fighting chance against each other then that would be great too. I won't hold my breath but either way, PvP is broken in this game and that's why a PvE server would be nice if they can't be bothered to fix it IMO
So, I just parked a character overnight right outside Velia and went to sleep last night, I was sitting on a horse, there for 10 hours, funny thing, no one killed me. Character level 61.
I have to wonder, do you have a punchable face, because that's the only way that you could be getting attacked so often, and not be lying about being attacked as often as you claim.
Do you guys go to Steak House or BBQ restaurants and demand they start a vegan menu?
Honest question.
no, but if the restaurant is not advertised as BBQ only, i find it ok to suggest including vegetarian plates in the menu (i am not vegan tho), or is it that you are so oversensitive that a simple suggestion wakes up the censorious dictator in you?

The Original question was incomplete, as was brought up a few times in the thread. (I know the thread's hard to read with a bunch of people constantly trying to derail it, but moving on)
The original question should have read, "Do you go to a BBQ restraunt or steakhouse and demand a vegan menu provided for you in a seperate building so you don't have to run the risk of being involved in the filthy non vegan menu in any way?"
It's not so much that they want a Vegan option, its that they want the Vegan option with their own place to eat it at.
I don't believe PVE servers are a good idea in any sense, simply for the fact that it takes away from the open world pvp aspect which is what BDO is built on.

True, and as some already mentioned it in the past, the fact of giving a taste of BDO without owpvp was probably what triggered the wish for a pure pve bdo. If this option never appeared, players would have probably taken the game as is, and they would not have questioned its orientation nor suggested anything like that.
When morons were "rampaging" on Olvia, devs should have let Olvia pvpve but only with new players (and not returners).
To my opinion, they also should have let seasons servers pvpve and completely separate them from regular channels, warehouses and so on. A real "fresh start" feeling for everyone.

Honestly what are you guys looking to get out of the MMO that is BDO? You guys don't want to allow people to enjoy the game without bothering y'all on grind spots. But at the same time you are crying because y'all can't completely negatively impact these players time in BDO. But at the same time y'all don't want to utilize the solution that the devs gave to you guys to forego a experience with these weaklings.
To me, it sounds like you guys are trying to turn a MMO, into a RNG-gear based Survival game. Where the strong rules over the weak like the North Korean gov. does with their populace. Which means you guys are playing the wrong genre and know it. But don't want to go to the right genre because it's not a RNG-gear based genre where you guys can just stomp on skilled players who aren't rich or RNG carried.
Maybe it's you guys who should figure out what y'all are looking for in a game.

And I don't even understand why you quoted me for such an answer. For sure I would suggest a better set of rules, but I also simply play by the current rules and enjoy the game, and so should you.

We want a system that actively discourages Karma bombing while allowing you to defend your spot, but also punishes players that go around randomly killing players. If that system can not be achieved, the next best thing is to put all karma on Arsha rules with Desert attacker debuff, by which if you kill someone not flagged you can get sent to jail. The system as is can be exploited and is exploited.
OWPvP is very important to how this game is played and should not be limited on any server at any time, including Oliva.
