It has to be carefully tweaked, and a system which would use owpvp against owpvp (a protector system) would be a better way to handle this while giving more occasions to fight in open world. 

They have to change if they dont want to lose to Elyon as competitor. 

At least 30-40% of my friends are going to try the game once it come out, its fast packed and has similar features to BDO.

There is no such thing as a free lunch yet people want PVE servers without stating any form of channel limit, because we all know that 6 will not be enough. And anyone who thinks that 6 channels will be perfectly fine most likely have potato as their core logic.

Freeloaders as in most casuals bring nothing to the game. In fact, most are the reason we even have this many channels in the first place. How are freeloaders gonna sustain this game if everything is buyable through the CM? Whales can't provide for 99% of the playerbase (counting all casuals here). If the EU/US staff is around 50 not counting server hosting, support and such. How is a freeloader that plays this game (or any other for that matter) for "free" supposed to fund these peopleor game upkeep?

Most born after 1990 wouldn't even dare to pay a sub each month let alone a fixed price unless their parents covered it as can be seen today where account sharing on various media platforms is a common occurrence, while they spend the small fee that could've been easily paid on something like starbucks or mcd? This is the era of true consumerism after all. Paying for something that is "free'' be damned! Everyone playing said service provided should be paid instead!

Having 25k players for EU/US would've been fine with just the pearl shop. But once you reach 50k or even 100k you start having leechers that not only cost more resources overall but you need more stable hosting to cover these "potential" (hah) spenders. If you think 1% of the playerbase is gonna handle the upkeep for everyone else then you pretty much asked for the prices to be what they are, so of course you aren't gonna be willing to spend if you had that mindset in the beginning. And as the leecherbase grows it'll only get worse.

And if you are nothing but a mindless consumer expecting free lunches 24/7 then you can pretty much blame yourself for the state the gaming world is today. Your short attention span mixed with the want for instant gratification isn't gonna solve any of these problems. And obviously this doesn't just go for BDO but any game with online purchases. Warframe and Path of Exile are both owned by the CCP and are F2P but that suddenly doesn't matter for most because potato. The reason most are willing to shill for these games is because of cost fallacy and not just the ingame time but the shiny shinies they spent ingame which they HAVE TO flaunt or their existence would be futile.

Same goes for capitalism. There is no "we've made enough so let's just stop" in capitalism. The average human is no different from a rat that would gladly consume the entire planets resources in order to be "content", even if it would damn its own offspring or anyone else for that matter.

The "freeloaders" role in a F2P game:

1, Filling the game

You know, noone wants to paly with a dead, empty game. Freeloaders fill the game with "life". You can see it being ultilized forexample when a game is dying they go F2P, even if the game actually makes profit(it's laughtably cheap to run game servers), as the freeloaders make the game look alive, so the whales not leave.

2, Advertisment

A freeloader isn't paying... but if he is having fun he brings his friends and they may pay, or even if not they bring their friends and at a point someone will going to pay.

League uses this methood. It has very lwo avarage spending/player, but still one of the top grossing game in the world. Population makes more population after a point.

3, "content" for the whales

The sandboxes that the whales can kick when they feel like wanting to own some noobs.

BDO utilizes 1 and 3. Without freeloaders the game would be literately empty with at most 1k online players. That would be dead game at that point. And obviously their """"convenience"""" store gives heavy advantage for the ones willing to fork in dem bucks agains those freeloaders....

You do realize using low-geared players as "content" gives nothing at all right? 

I can't speak for anyone else, but the thought of whaling, I imagine spending $5,000+ on BDO, to use that to kill low-geared players, as a complete waste of time and money.

Yet that exactly what whales do. If they didn't want a massive advantage over other players they wouldn't be spending up to 10k dollars a month to have BIS gear. This most be the first online game you've every played if you don't realize that. It the same logic with hackers they cheat just to obliterated everyone that can't contest them due to their cheats (but mmm cheater fighting another person cheating and they insteadly GFTO cause than it a fair fight) this what they consider fun. It the same logic with whales they swip to have a clear OP advantage over others so they can easily win without the need for skill, It just the difference between a whale and a cheater is a whale is accpeted by the game's rules and cheater isn't. But in the end of the day they both do it for the same reasons to obliterate people who have no chance of beating them.

P.S watch I bet 10k dollars either Peace, Werb, or Simley will reply with stupidity like "Your saying cheating should be acceptable cause me tiny brain can't read words." that exactly what these forum memes will do cause there just memes in the end of the day that think with 1000% spite and zero logic.

I always cringe when I hear someone say "you need a value pack to experience the full game" because that is absolute absolutely untrue.

The only real benefit of the value pack is the market tax rebate or being able to have fancy dye for your costume or armors.  Even then, you can easily make silver in game without selling items on the marketplace if you do your homework or get good advice from players who look beyond the shop. 

Hard to believe.  Aside from taking over a grind spot, there's literally nothing to gain from picking on lowbies.  And ignoring your angry/sad PS message there, that's not a condusive way to hold a discussion.

To acheive a sick-sense of fun like you're describing, OK I guess, I can imagine some loveless manchild picking on lowbies.  But you make it sound like a lot, or even most, whales do this.  I find that difficult to be convinced of.  Like you, I have no tangible evidence, so speaking form my personal experience, like you are seemingly doing, whales/geared players fight other whales/geared players.  Also, how do you determine if someone is a "whale" or not without access to their financial records?  Can it be possible that you, or others, get blown up with low DP, and instantly are like, "I got one combo'd, that means they're a whale!"?  So many factors come into play here.

But curtailing back to my reply to Ricord on another thread, I think the game ought to introduce / improve on new ways to make being red mean something for a start.  If things really are as bad as people make it out to be, this could help alleviate against bullying.
