Is it? Is it fine?
Is it? Is it fine?
LOL
Is it? Is it fine?
Wha'? Your pet can count more trees than the game engine can display? Are you flexing your pet's counting skills?
The latest maintenance brought nothing new to the game, content wise, yet somehow... I found a new race of yaks.
I honesty don't know what's going on with the game's engine. Did it catch a cold or something?
At this rate, we'll all be running as stick figures through the Land of the Morning Light...
Gee... That is some kind of a new specimen! I need to do a research on it!
Fascinating...
U know how CDPR removed traffic to optimize the CP2077 game? I'm guessing something similar happens here too, only they may have went a bit overboard and, as seen in the Kama panoramic view, removed literally everything. And they're not reacting to it, because they didn't find a solution to this issue. Maybe the game got too bloated for its own good?
Thing is, them acknowledging the issue and saying they're looking for a solution won't do jack either. They said they'll revitalize the sea content and revamp trading a few days ago too, right? Or, was it... years? You get the point. I just wish that the vocalized distaste towards the state the graphics of the game are in will grow big enough for them to actually focus on it instead of bringing out more halfassed outfits (with bad animation - if at all, judging by the state of maegu's robes - and horrible rigging that makes everything clip with everything else).
It's a weird situation.
Basically there is no tree LOD in the game except for Everfrost (there still is the low-res objects issue but way less frequend than in the other regions). We guessed earlier in the thread that they did this for performence reasons. (Why not just make on option in video settings to show distant objects or not depending on if your hardware can handle it well or not?) I get no performence drop in Everfrost though, even there still is far away tree LOD.
Another theory was to increase the framerate in elvia servers. Because of the additional tree animations due to strong winds there, some players experienced framerate drops. (Still - why no setting for far away objects instead ruining the visuals of the game for everyone?)
A while ago they tried to remove even more which then resulted in entire mountains vanishing in the distance or having holes in them. They reverted back to this no distant LOD and low-res objects state of the game a few days later.
I just want the game to look like it did before the 28th of April and PA stopping to mess around with the game, its animations, combat system etc. It was perfect when I started to play BDO three years ago. Many things have gotten worse since then. Too many disimprovements.
Edit:
I still remember vividly when I took this screenshot while playing the Drieghan main quest. I was thinking to myself: "Man...this is so beautiful." and "Finally I've found an MMO I really like."
"Ugh... Who brew this muck?"
What it look like in 2017
what it looks like in 2022 sure wish they bring it back to the way it look in 2017
"Ugh... Who brew this muck?"
The poor road got stepped on so much it developed blisters? That's definitely a new level of immersion, right there!
