Sailor SHOULD have a % chance to get sick if:

- You fail to keep your rations under control and stocked up.

- You die to a PVE Mob of any type on the Ocean.

- You recall your ship from the sea
That is like cheating the system if you ran out of rations, so the distance you recall from is calculated and applied to your sailors, so if its far they will get sick.

Sailors SHOULD NOTget sick:

- You die on the ocean to any PVP battle.

Let me be direct in why this current system is just not functional by design and toxic in nature.

1) You punish players for a plethora of reasons that could be conpletely out of their control.

2) The method to heal a sick sailor is to use a [Elixir of Regeneration]
This recipe is a hot mess and requires a material item purchased with Crow Coins, something that is highly in demand for most of your sailing life, making this that much more toxic to deal with.

3) Sailors are a MAJOR factor is how your ship performs in PVP, some people have special setups they spend months rerolling and min/maxing stats for PVP..... it is rather toxic to take the core design system of increasing ship stats, and placing debuffs on it that we have to PAY SILVER TO REMOVE.....

--- Just wrap your mind around that for a second, the current system would be like if you died to a red player ganking you at a grind spot on land, and it gave you a debuff you had to go to an NPC vendor and pay 10m-40m silver to remove each time you died to that player or any other player or NPC...... think, about, that.---

4) As a new sailor, the cost of dealing with this can be harsh if you are not already established with some nature of income system.

Eating 10m-30m silver because of a toxic experience, or even a fun duel on the sea kinda sucks.

Now I'm personaly not complaining. I have plenty of income and can afford to heal my guys 10 fold daily if I cared. That doesn't change the fact that this is a toxic system at best with the design. All I really think needs to be done is tweek it so PVP doesn't impact your sailors in any way, let them be.

It will also encourage more players to PVP on the sea if they know it isn't going to randomly cost them money because they bit off more then they could chew with a better geared ship.

Best advice anyone can give you. Is to give up hope on BDO becoming less toxic. Either accept it and carry on. Or simply just find another MMO that won't feed you to established players for money.

You should try checking in the cash shop. Not only will you find the reason this cancerous feature exists, but also why they'll never remove it.

Imagine crying about an item that costs 10m and which is constantly supplied in the player market.

Also lol at all the incompetent clowns that show up with their cash shop conspiracy theories about such an easy and cheap item to get free of IRL charge.

Yet there an item in the cash shop and this feature serves zero benefit to the game beside frustration players and making some buy that cash shop item. But it cool we all know your PA's bitch Simley that licks the shit as it falls out of their ass.

The system is fine when it relates to PVE death, soon as it relates to PVP death it falls apart and turn toxic. Simply remove Sick Sailor from PVP related Death and we are fine.

i dont understand why should sailing people be spared negative effects in pvp?
