Because some people are entitled and want a safe space. They got support from incompetent whiners who can't be arsed to spend 10m ingame money on an item or spend 5 literal minutes getting 100 crow coins so there is that.

While I agree Sea PvP is too punishing, you have many options. 

First use a 49 to barter and you never have to worry about any sea PvP, my fisher/horse trainer/barterer is 49.

Second, if you are SMH which can't be done on a 49, either don't use sailors, or get ready to swap as soon as you see another player, you don't have to swap, just be ready to.  Since you are in I-frame while at the ships wheel they can't interupt your swapping servers/characters meaning you should never die in Sea PvP unless you are afk.

Third, don't be AFK or leave your boat with sailors sit in non safe zones.

Because on land you dont lose 30 to 50 mil on pvp death

No on land you can lose 1-1.5 billion silver if the wrong crystals break when someone feeds you to mobs or if you are red.  

Are you saying death to water mobs or when you're red doesn't degrade or destroy crystals? 

No because you are not wearing crystals when you are doing sea content.  At most you might run Rosar manhand/offhand with Han Gervish for weight, which is 200m if you lost all 4 of them at the same time.  

Gotta love how well most of the people in this topic can read...  OP is asking that you remove penalties for dying on sea pvp.  Not pve.  Nothing about being red.

Right now, if some pirate shows up, and sinks me, there is a chance that I have to buy the elixers to heal my sailors.  In addition to what I have to do to resurrect my boat.  On land, if someone flags up and kills me, I do not lose crystals, or xp, or anything else.  It is inconvenient in that I either have to tear up or res to node/town, but thats basically the extent of my punishment.

You also have the option to not use high end crystals like elkarr jin vipers han hoom and opt for cheaper too like bmc precision, normal hoom, and other cheap crystals that will only lose you 10m tops per death

And this is for ultra rare scenario where you are mobfeeded. If you are killed while afk pathing or when the enemy just nuke you while youre grinding theres nothing lost. What you're comparing is not an equivalent. You should compare sailor sick on death to wagon being permanently destroyed or needing 20m repair when killed by a red player while all trade item lost. Sadly who tf does wagon trading now so the comparison you bring for grindspot isnt exactly accurate comparison

Sailor sick is 10m per sailor, lets say 6 sailors, for 60m,  Each base hoom is 40m each x4 that is 160m.  Right there you are 100m over what you lose for sailors, if 100m worth of barter goods gets lost, you lose the same amount.  your "cheap" crystals solution is not a solution in the first place and just plain dishonest.

First, this is assuming you are losing the 4 most expensive. Most of the time, you will only lose 2-3 crystals and what are the chances it hit the hooms. Hooms price is also fluctuating hard where it jumped from 25m to 40m each while on average the price of elixir is always around 11-12m. This is also assuming the ultra rare scenario u got mobfed while grinding, where it is extremely rare ocassion and it isnt technically a pvp death by definition

Second, this is an absolutely unrelated correlation assuming you die by mobfeed. You can also get mobfeed in crocs, and this topic is simply for death by PVP. Land death by player does NOT destroy your crystal. Assumption of this being mobfeeding is a totally different topic where I also think should be fixed
