There are times when I afk in game and I lag out of afk fishing or training. the server will stall at some point during the night and my character will just be standing next to their horse or have stopped fishing and sometimes oddly will continue to fish but with the fish grade filter reset.

Make it so while AFK fishing you do not have to be logged into game; Just set your character in the location and equip your gear start fishing and log off (this would help server loads and stop computers from becoming toasters). While auto-pathing, if server has to reload you wont get dismounted and your autopath continues and doesn't disappear.

They not going to do that.

The main reason why such afk activities even exits is to force the players to run their shit whole days, as it generates fake population.

(Also they make money in KR from time based computer use in some netcafes they have contract with.)

Yes it would use less server rescource, and would be better for players if the cities would not be full of afk players.

You make a couple of good points but I believe that Pearl Abyss could still count those afk fishers that are logged at as part of the population and even render them ingame at their logout locations if they really cared about that (which wouldn't help the server issue). As far as the net cafe, I think since players are incentivized to use their time wisely because they pay per minute/hr someone wouldn't come there just to afk in BDO.

They cannot count players as logged in if they are not actually logged in. That is fraud, they would be lying about their player numbers for financial gain.

You're assuming there is a server side issue, then how do you explain why other people like me stay logged in constantly between maintenances.

If there were actual server issues, everybody would face them.

Actually you're experiencing network issues, and the first step of solving them is troubleshooting your end of the network.

On a side note, everybody can witness how IncompetentDK didn't mention those facts and went full badmouthing as usual instead of giving relevant and usefull input.

Yeah the problem may be on my end as far as disconnecting either way I feel like afk fishing over night isn't something that you should need to put game in tray for if it's basically the same as not being logged on. With the phone app might as well stay logged on through that if you can use marketplace while logged off anyways.

It matters a lot where you train. If you train in towns then you will get lag spikes and broken auto-path etc.

You can join me on Termian Beach to train horses. Beautiful FPS, no lag spikes, no broken auto-path, but 24/7 AFK training without interruption. Oh and you can also AFK fish at that spot as the beach is a giant safe zone.
