So I can't for the life of me decide which class I'd like to make my main. I'm torn between my archer or ninja. I'm currently trying to catch up to my friend who never really stopped playing, so I can't really effectively gear both characters. I tried tagging them when I found out you can copy gear, but omg that feature has to be the absolute dumbest and useless feater ever added to the game. It's so restrictive you can't do anything on either character. So I'm stuck, I have to pick which class to focus on. I've really been liking archer especially when fighting bosses, Though my ninja is better geared and a little more fun when grinding, also, double jump. I would appreciate if someone could give me their opinion to help me decide. Thanks in advance.

Oh and I don't pvp at all if I can help it, so I'm not too worried about archers being crap in pvp. 

Archer is nice class, but also outperformed in almost all fields by other classes. It has no protection, no ranged DMG (highest dmg is at close range) and is best at being boss alt.
I have no experience in Ninja, but I was playing Archer for long time. Moved gear to succ Guardian, and it feels much better in everything. Ninja is often said to be good in small scale/1v1 PvP, so here it will for sure outshine Archer. As for PvE - imho in early game Archer will be better, but later in the game both of these classes seem to be outperformed.

In the end: play whatever gives you fun, but please do not expect archer to excel in any task.

Thanks for the input. Yeah I definitely get what you're saying. Maybe It is best that I just park my archer at a boss spawn and let him do the only thing he does best.
