Just quit BDO, I can not even comprehend how someone can still play this Game.
If you are a Whale who spent his Life savings on this Game, sure you can not quit now, so you gotta feed yourself lies, but still you guys get played like a Fiddle.
Pepeblessed to all that quit and never returned.
Exactly that.
Personally cannot quit because 700gs and invested too much, like a poker player who puts too many chips in and cannot fold anynore.
This game does not bring much positivity, we have the devs to thanks for that. (if only they could all be replaced by ones with fresh, modern, and non conservative ideas~)
Leave the ship if you still can, your life will be better.
Everwhere you go, online game forums echo the same and the players fit into the same categories. I see trolls telling people to stop playing game X because game Y is better. Recently in the autumm of last year, all the trolls were telling people that New World would kill game X. Yet all the games I read that message on are still here. Meanwhile Amazon did a fine job of killing New World. New World started strong selling over 25 million copies. Then the game population took a nose dive. They lost an estimated 63% of the players in November, 46% in December, 22% in January, and 46% more in February. Assuming they had 25 million back in September or October, they are down to 2.1 million players out of 25 million.
Now the same trolls are posting about Lost Ark, another Amazon game, free to play isometric 3D. Great if that is what you want to play, but Amazon is the publisher, so take heed of what you spend on your "free" game. My friend played it and said, "It is like a shiny cookie, that leaves a dry stale taste in your mouth the longer you chew it.".
I wouldn't accuse people of being trolls, what other reason could they have for telling you to abandon a game they know you love to play? They desire to trigger a reaction and this thread is feeding their pschological needs. They will without any doubt attack my post and down vote, for calling them out on this fact. Their hope for any retaliation on my part is in vain.
These online games are made up of different factions who come into a game as; Loyalist, Exploratory, or Casual players.
* The Loyalist plan to play the game until the game shuts down or they die.
* The Casual plays the game once in a while, drops in like your aunt from Seattle.
* The Exploratory is here to kick the tires and is all about the new experience.
This last group is the 60 to 80% who leave and some might return, if they hear about the new content. Without fresh ideas, the game will degrade faster than ever. The Amazon game New World continues to lose the 60 to 80% because there is nothing new yet. Even then you will never get 100% of the players back to the online game. The longer the game runs without fresh content, the more player will discover other venues to entertain themselves.
If you don't like being called out as a troll, stop telling people to quit game X. I am sure people don't mind you telling them about other games you enjoy playing or look forward to playing in the future. I am reasonably confident Pearl Abyss would love to hear your thoughts about the free to play MMO called Eve Online.
Have fun!
It's definately not predatory monetization. you need to buy the game and a tent, probably some pets or it will take forever to pre oerder. thats it. everything else you can get off the marketplace without any difficulty. you dont even need to buy costumes for crons for the most part. you can garentee boss all the way to pen. value pack i just look at like a sub, lots of other games do that. even that you dont need, i know plenty that just wait to collect from MP untill they get a loyalty VP.
I've been seeing soo many posts where people are throwing these sentences so many times
"Go play wow/ff14/eso"
"Nobody forces you to play BDO"
"Don't like it, don't play it"
And so many other variances of these
Now, this is what I want to say, let's be more welcoming to people instead of pushing them away from the game even more
Game is not perfect, and people's taste change over time. We are here mostly as BDO players who want to keep playing BDO. If we keep telling people to gtfo as a solution whenever a suggestion or complaints come out, that is exactly what will happen. Active players are gradually getting less, lot of guilds are dying, community discord traffic goes down, and people are moving to different MMORPG that are all coming up soon. Heck even this forum is extremely dead. BDO need to keep adapting to new trends and demand to keep up.
When everyone left, what will be the point of your 800 GS when theres nobody to interact with? Might as well play private server BDO. The first two M in MMORPG stands for Massively Multiplayer. Please let's stop making this into a single player RPG game more than it is already. If you don't agree to something, give a constructive feedback instead of suggesting the person to go away
Please stop trying to change BDO on a fundemental level and go to a game that better suits you. It's one thing to ask for QOL updates, or for bug fixes, or to make suggestions. The problem becomes when the requests are for the removal of all OWPvP, The removal of the enhancing system (Jetina pens), or other massive sweeping changes.
Every day we have some new jerkwad posting "BDO SUXXOR BECAUSE" in all caps bold 48px font. Also 800GS, that's not even possible even with full 4/4 Fallen God armor and 2x Pen Deboreka.
Yeah, sometimes just getting space from the game and maybe trying something else helps with anxiety/depression.
The griefing gets to everyone.
The community has shifted.
The numbers are getting lower.
I sometimes look back at these posts and wonder what really could've been.
Bdo was a great game, but too much enabling of toxicity and no real key to stop it. Even asking for customer support to help leads to often failure and no results besides "toughen up kid." or "we got this , dw , they got their verdict but we can't tell you what it was!"
So you see who ever griefed/harassed/negged you into disbelief and slowly detach from the game. It's truly sad.
Ohhh, this dude did a massive Necro. Why?
yes, I will keep playing until I decide to do not. Your stupid "go play smth else" won't change my mind about the game. It is just destructive annoying noise.

That's the idea.
Play the game as long as it pleases you, don't wait for any next game to decide if you should leave your current game, don't pay attention to what the others are saying.
But I guess there's a misunderstanding, if you're so willing to play BDO, you're probably not one of those who would deserve a "go play smth else"?
BTW, NE-NE-NECROOOOOOooo.
As other have said, many of us are 700+gs, we have invested a lot of time and most likely some money too, it's like impossible to quit now when you have such an advantage to like 90% of other players, welcome to PVP mmo where gear matters.

The most important thing here is : are you having fun with BDO?
If the answer is "no", no amount of GS should be able to keep you here. That's a sad excuse for staying here.
