Many people avoid BDO simply because there is no fun group element. 

 

The question would be : What BDO has, as fun element ? Even as SP game

Do runing in circle bashing the same none existant AI fun ?

Do having no content exploiting the various class gameplay fun ?

Do having a pvp relying more on gear than skill fun ?

Do afk for days / weeks / months waiting for your mobile style life skill task to finish fun ?

Do clicking on the Gear Casino button & losing weeks of saving fun ?

Do having truncated content to push players to the cash shop solution fun ?

 

I mean what's the actual BDO content you really are excited and thrilled to do ?

I'am just curious to know where actualy is the fun in BDO once you passed the -i leveled X-Y class and tested somes skill combo and enjoyed to look at the very good looking map-

 

To me seems like a lot of people avoid BDO simply because there is no fun element once you pass the attractive visual

Even Elyon seem to make that mistake and turn dungeon into a "daily" ( that seem kinda mandatory to do ) and then there is no more point to do them ( regarding reward ) if players prefer than compare to basic grind spot.

 

Dont expect PA to succeed that part.

I agree. To me, BDO is hands down the best MMORPG out right now with the glaring exception when it comes to group play. Let us face it: group play is what really defines an MMO; it's the key. Without an established group aspect, an MMO is just a single-player online game. Many people avoid BDO simply because there is no fun group element. 

 

I can only hope that pearl abyss learns from the huge mistakes that were done in both Shadow Rift and Altar of Blood. They should make sure that dungeons are totally optional content so no one depends on them and that these dungeons should be fun and rewarding for time spent.

Yeah, I feel 'ya.  I came from a relatively unknown MMO.  DC Universe Online.  My most memorable moments are the moments I shared with in-game and IRL friends.  Really fun.  I prided myself on being a Fire Tank main (hardest to play tank, "squishy" compared to other tank classes, lowest HP and armor stat of all tank classes.  Ice, for example, was the easiest - lots of shields, damage reduction abilities, and huge base-armor stats, with a long ranged cone-AoE pull for pulling adds.  Fire, no shields, damage reduction only activated by active blocking (required good reactions), small distance, circular AoE pull, who's survival tactic was HP regen instead of auto-pilot shields.  Really miss the days of solo tanking end-game dungeons as Fire.  Block, animation cancel some healing abilities, block, cast an ability, animation cancel block, if you mis-time anything you get CC"d and get to watch your healers scramble lol.  Healers hated having Fire Tanks lol xD but it was too fun to play to put down for the META tanks.  Fire DPS was fun too (each class could swap between healer/tank/"controller" (like healers, but for mana) or DPS.

 

Active communication was a must in this game.  Boss fights demanded teamwork, everyone needed to pull their weight, even the DPS's.  If not, the entire party would die easily.  I miss having people on mic, making shot-calls, laughing it up, commending each other, and stuff, while working toward a common goal.

 

MMO's, IMO, are best shared among a group of friends.  The people we meet, the stories we write, are memories that can last a lifetime.  I'm glad BDO is taking steps in this direction.  I hope it's good, fun, social, optional, and open to improvement, should the community voice their opinion on it.

It's the same in WoW, ESO, FFXIV, BDO, etc. Every dungeon becomes the same rotation; things are scripted, tank here, healers here, DPS there, etc. After that, it's just a matter of fun modes and social interaction. The only one place really lacking for me in BDO is the social community interaction you get from group play. I should also hope that when I say "to me, BDO is the best," people we see that as my personal preference, not a universal truth for every one of us.

and what has BDO? it has nothing, only dead shit content coz the devs dont understand the audience.

Content dead before arrival, just like Alter of Blood, Savage Rifts, and pit of undying.  Only way to make this not dead on arival is to tie some part of progression to it, and not allow players access if they don't do it.

Savege Rift? I don't even know what it looks like, ha ha. Ok I know I saw on YT, but never do.

Pit is actually easy once you realize that a 150 AP and a 301 AP character does exactly the same damage, however a 300 DP and 450 DP player takes different levels of damage,  I just put on DP accessories and it was a snooze.

Glad PA is adding some group content, but if they hope to keep people partcipating in it more than once or a few times, they need to incentivize it. Otherwise, people are just going to continue to grind. People don't run Altar of Blood, Savage Rift, and Pit of the Undying much if at all because the rewards are lackluster.

 

Doesn't have to be just good trash loot either, could also have stuff like the infinite potion pieces, Orceza leaves/lung, Embers/Flame, compass/map parts, etc. as potential low-rate/rare drops in there.

Also, repetitive yes, but most if not all game provide different type of content with different game rules so diversity, while BDO doesnt at all.

 

yet you still dont answer my question. ( ofc i understand is a personal preference but still )

Where is the fun & thrill in BDO beside the visual immersion and how to use a class with the key combo ?

 

And yes there is zero community interaction in that game

Unpopular opinion: For it to not be DoA content; the rewards should match, or be better than, grinding at 250 AP and 280 AP spots for the duration that the dungeon should take. I support the "greater" part of that, and that they should make this content be the thing people aim on improving their gear for(PvE-wise anyways). Idc if its hard content with a lot of bullshittery mechanics in it, just as long as its rewarding for the time investment in more than just the pixel design of the content.
