exactly this
adding a second 'awakening' weapon would just cause entirely too many problems.
The only thing I support for the forseeable future of this game is a version of Awakening where you fully commit to the Awakening weapon, have its skills buffed, have new ones added, but you can't use your pre-awakening weapon any more. This however would need major restructuring of how the skill trees work, or require what will feel to some classes as some major shenanigans. The movement skills required to be brought over alone would make some classes feel like they got screwed compared to others. For example, Nova's got all the mobility she needs in the awak kit. Lahn's got a 50/50 split with dashes on the awak, but fly and backstep in pre-awak, and then classes like DK, Witch, Wizard, Ninja, Kuno all have the mobility skills in Pre-Awak. There's also the question of blocks and other utility skills that are used in awakening (that dont weapon swap you) ~ wizard E heal and blockjump come to mind immediately here.
In any case what I'd rather see is the balancing we keep being promised. Right now if we grade the amount of 'stuff' a class has between utility / damage / defense / etc / etc , where each class was supposed to be balanced at a total of 100.....we all know Witch Wizard are still sitting at a 120, tamer/shai are at 65, and everyone else is between 85-100...
Just so. One of the reasons I disagreed with that too.
I would love to see striker with tamers bo staff. Like sun wukong.
I would like to see that too but the core mechanics of Striker doesn't seem to work best with a staff weapon. I suggested Musa because of his insane cyclone spinning attacks.
I see no good reason to add a second Awakening weapon and a whole new list of talents for every class. Succession was just an extension of pre awakening. I could see them adding a Succession style for awakening tho, where they make prime versions of current awakening talents, and you wouldn't ever go back into main hand, in fact that would be preferrable to adding a new weapon, new animations, new skills and everything it's hard enough to balance the 42 classes we have now, because lets face it Succession and Awakening are different classes already.
This.
There is no reason to add yet another weapon to enhance/buy to get results like this. Adding different skills to current classes to expand their play style is more than sufficient.
