I have sent this as a ticket through the support website but was told adding this here would be better and to get other opinions from players:
This suggestion is adding a second awakening weapon for all classes. I understand that this would take some time to plan out and to create. Adding more of a variety to classes will not only add more content to players, but make the game feel even more like a MMO. Say we look at Witch. She can be a staff-using heavy mage spell caster for succession or use the Aad Sphera to call upon summoned creatures and use the elements of Lightning and Earth to create strong area-of-effect skills. If classes had a third option to choose from (while also giving the class a different name based on the path chosen like in the mobile BDO game), it would give players more feelings of control over what they feel more in tune with their class. For Witch, maybe adding a second awakening weapon like a Grimoire/Book for her to cast defensive spells or maybe more elements at her disposal, or even something higher than elements such as Space or Time. With these second awakening weapons, Pearl Abyss could also give individual weapons to classes and have completely different playstyles than, say, the Sphera for the Witch and Wizard classes. Their playstyles may be different, but they share the same awakening weapon essentially as well as 2 summons, a lava/poison pool, and their main area-of-effect skills are similar. I feel like a good example would be how Musa/Maehwa or Ninja/Kunoichi are with their awakenings, although I do understand that Witch and Wizard are older classes, so I understand that newer classes bring newer ideas. If this were implemented, players would need to choose between, and to refer to my previous idea, the Aad Sphera or Grimoire for Witch when wanting to build an awakening weapon, and would function similarly when swapping with C to your chosen awakening weapon. For Dandelion Boxes, give the option to open the box and have the player click which awakening weapon they want for their class. Also, my friend made an interesting point when I was discussing this with him. He said it would be cool to look at a class and wonder what "sub-class" they are, rather than just knowing that they are most likely awakening or most likely succession because of how preferred one path might be for a certain class, which can be seen in the graph that was shown at the Calpheon Ball.
Not sure if this idea has already been added to the forums, but just wanting to throw this out there to see what others think. If it's a good idea then great! If it doesn't fit the game's playstyle or just won't work then that is fine too. Any idea's or thoughts would be appreciated on the matter. Thank you for reading/replying!
+1
I dont whole-heartedly agree with all your post here, but the overall idea of giving a new combat style to all existing classes is a nice one.
The undertaking of the project like this would be a huge one, and would need the resources of the entire PA crew.
The gross oversight and half-bakedness of some classes is what really gets to me. Why does witch NOT have a broom as an awakening weapon? Why does mystic NOT have sai's as an awakening weapon? Why does valk's shield become super big once she has a lance on? Why do ninja and kuno have alt offhands and not others?...
As you can see there is a pretty big list of things I have to discuss over time with the new forums. I plan to make it rain.....
Nice in theory, but at the moment they already have so many problems balancing not just classes, but also succession and awakened. Most of the classes are pretty useless in most content and are severely lagging behind others. Even with their own numbers succession dominates player's usage at the moment. Adding more would just make this even worse.
As cool as it sounds, this would add too many classes to keep track of as pvper, and balance challenges for a dev team that's not doing all that great to begin with. The easiest route would be to have the skills essentially the same (same damage/cc specs) but utilize different elements or weapons.
PA really shot themselves in the foot with how classes are locked behind genders/races. There would have been a lot more variety if you could choose a race/gender and then a class. You wouldn't have to have nearly as many classes to make a character feel unique, and all the new ones they've added could merely be specializations that branch off of existing ones. For example, you might start out as a wizard, but later you can choose between upgrading to sorc's black magic or their current awakening as a summoner with stronger elemental magic. Or a generic warrior class could go for full damage with a greatsword or a tank build with valk's lance and shield. Then when things got stale and they needed new content, they could add a new class OR a new playable race that uses the existing classes.
Even a multi billionaire corporation like Blizzard are unable to make 12 classe with 2-3 build each worth to play.
And you want to overwhelming PA with even more work.
PA shouldn't even think about it. I even forbidden them.
While it would be nice, and would make more sense than adding new classes, it doesn't have real chance that it will ever happen.
It would take them enourmus effort, they suck in adding just one more ability to each class, how much time do you think it would take to add a whole new talent tree to all?
And it would have no return in money. Unless they lock the new talents behind paywall...
I'd rather they balance the classes they already have plz

no to many classes as is and they still havent fixed the ones that are dominating all content while Tamer hits like a 261 AP character with 290AP LOL I saw this on a stream shits stupid fix current classes!

But adding a new class every 3 months is ok? They could maybe use that time to add these. They don't have to do 21 classes at once. After all, not all classes received their awakening at the same time either, nor succession.
I'm all for adding more content to old classes before adding new, but of course we all know that new classes bring in a ton of money and in the end, this game cannot exist without constant revenue stream.
Heck, I could live a whole year without a single new class if that meant we would get revamped Valencia and Great Expedition part II that we have been denied for years now.
