If you could say Training was a lifeskill, pretty much everyone would agree that the one lifeskill that is the least rewarding, and not only with regards to silver earned, but in all the things an activity could provide (and by activity, I also mean grinding mobs), is Training.

Training is not balanced compared to the other activities, whether it's with regard to how much money you can make, how usefull you can be, or basically anything else I can think of including how much time it requires.

Not a coincidence, whenever I check the rankings, whatever the servers, theres a bunch of Gurus everywhere, on every lifeskill, there's level 64, level 65, GS 650, players are reaching the high end part of whatever activity they have chosen. But not in training. Nope, don't take my word for it, check it out yourself, most of the time when I check the rankings, there's no one above Master 15 in Training.

Training has pretty much always been, except at launch, as far as I can remember, the in game activity that the devs seemed to pay the least attention to. 

There's 1 quest that gives training XP. 1 daily, that's it. Seriously. Can I say it again? I'll say it again, there is ONE quest in teh entire fking game that gives training XP. 1.

Except for ............ Racing :) 

But here's the thing, anyone can race, you don't have to be a trainer to race, being a high level trainer makes no difference for racing, and so anyone at all can enter a race and be rewarded for it.

It'll give you a bit of training XP, but you make more training XP leveling low level / low tier horses in the time you spend waiiting for a race to start anyway. People don't do it for the XP, people don't do it for the training.

People do it for the rewards. So would you really put that in the training lifeskill activity as well? Yeah, I guess would too, you can't really say it's got nothing to do with training, so ok, but it's not slam dunk now is it?

So this has got nothing to do with the Trainer activity. Because anyone and eveyone can join a horse race and the rewards can benefit everyone too.

But, out of all the possible things a trainer can do, it's the only fun. I mean it's not the only fun, but it's the only "real" fun. Not only that, but it's the only thing that is even remotely rewarding A trainer buys, sells horses, levels horses, tames horses, and thats it, I'm not saying those arent fun, I'm not saying those things can't be rewarding, but when you put things into perspective......

Anyway ... I'm a trainer, I really enjoy the Grand Prix content. I love the racing, I do, I didn't think I would, but I do, it's fun. And it's rewarding, it's worth doing.

But I can't do it... I can't enjoy that content, I can't get those rewards, because no one ever races, ever, except at prime time, and even then you have to get lucky, cause its like, basically, one group of players and thats it. So while they race, there is no one. 

Some times even at prime time, I can't get more than 1 or 2 races, this is the case for me tonight, it's why I am writing this. I would like to make a suggestion.

Here's my suggestion:

Fix it, or delete it, but don't let it die the slow and painfull death it is experiencing today. 

Having content that is dead, like the grand prix racing content, is a very very very bad sign. It shows that the game is losing its pace, when devs don't even care, or half the dev team has quit or been fired because the budget has been reduced and even if they did care they don't have the time. That's when, in a MMORPG, you start to see dead content appear. Content that isn't a priority. And because the devs, for whatever reason, can't deal with everything, they just let it die.

Don't let it die. Fix it, or delete, but don't just let it linger like this. If only for balancing, because those rewards you get from racing, are balanced, but if you can't even get them, because there are no races, because there are no people racing, then it's out of balance. Isn't it?

Fix it, or delete it, and while you're at it, balance the Training life skill / activity already.

Honestly, as a trainer, I feel like I'm not wanted in this game, not by players who don't need me and not by the devs who don't take care of me.

An another entierly pointless "content" got dead within 1month after the events ended. Who could have foreseen this????

What if, when queue-ing for a race, if no one else is present or available to join with you, then game use CPU controlled opponents for you to race?  I know the thrill comes from racing other human beings, but in this case, I think CPU could be used to fill the gaps.  That way, you can still experience the content, without having to rely on other people.

The big draw for me with BDO, is the game doesn't force it's players to group up.  We can do practically anything we want solo (barring PvP, of course).  Horse racing is one of the only things that forces us to rely on others, albeit, it is a form of PvP, so IDK.

instanced content which has nothing to give a fuck on BDO and which ends in failure.

Training itself is profitable in alot of way. T9, Viper Crystal mainly.

Old Moon Grand prix is a bad idea since the begining like every other instanced content released before and not gonna change with the *Dungeon*.

for a content to stay alive its need a connexion with the whole game.  Grand prix progression is limited to itself with no connexion wat so over to other content.

A easy way to make this content more interresing like RBF is Daily that give Caphras. or

or

or


Ect... Boss Aura. Loots scrolls. Mastery Scrolls.

The dream would be maid. pets, Tent or Mount Skill Change Coupon x 100 for 20 000-50 000 Coin.

Just add the old system back and leave this one to rot as another icon next to it. Before, at least if 2 other people showed up you'd still have  competitive race or if no one showed up, lucky you. It's not the player's fault if other people aren't incentivised to race.

I don't know whether they could handle a NPC horse in a race, that can't even handle a sprinting horse on autopath without it running into a river or getting stuck !!!!

I think it's a good idea, I'd rather race with humans, but I'd rather race with NPCs than not race at all..

Just let it rot, it was bad from the start, I only did it on seasons for extra crons

Horse racing actually very fun content, its fast if you have people. And here is why there is no people for it:

1- you can't leech it - yes content that you can't leech usually die very fast, even through leechers would be welcome at racing, but they don't get any reward.

2 - Throphy rewards still not in game.

3 - rubberbanding, people who mastered it was the worst, completely killing all desire to participate in racing if you have to face one of those.

4 - griefers - how bad your live if you grief in video game ?

5- required new  menu to access it - i would personally still do it if i wasn't forced to change menu everytime i want to join.

Bad content is always dead.
Players reported what changes to the grand prix are needed, PA as usual did nothing.
I really like grand prix but without changes:

a) increasing the time to reach the finish line after the winner finish, we have only 10 sec, this is ridiculous, 30 sec is minimum

b) change horse "ride style" to normal horse "ride style", on grand prix horse are leading very badly especially in sharp bends

c) impossible for PA - FIX COLLISION with objects, I was first or second in the race many times until the collision, sometimes after the collision I wasn't even able finish the race 

d) connect to c and b, collision with others racers block horse's abilities, there is too much difference in ping between the players, players are in a different place every second for the other players, you think you can accelerate because you have free space but you are slowed down by another player because for him you are behind him (from his perspective)

I'm not going to go back to that, even for the prizes to be won.
