why cant we get hashs hair cuts on all classes respectively or archers or even zerks same for the females why not? its not game breaking

A. Black Desert characters are being made quite elaborately. Due to the exceptional number of customization options, the more hairstyles we implement, the more issues there are for optimization. During last year’s Ball, we were requested to design new hairstyles, and we‘ve been working on them ever since, but due to performance issues, we haven’t been able to implement them. At that time, we placed our priority on optimization, so we put the updates on hold, but from now on we will attempt to release these new styles one by one, since it is difficult to release them all at once.
In addition, we are consering implementing hair ornaments in the style of the beloved Yianaros Headpiece. However, since both new hairstyles and hair ornaments are all closely related to optimization issues, we will be proceeding with these updates slowly.

The Q&A post seems to be related to new hairstyles which is something different. I definitely see how more hairstyles affect the overall performance and particularly the hairstyles that can be heavily edited affect it a lot. You can even see how the editing you do to hairstyles looks different on other player's screen because some of the edit information needs to be cut out.

 

I prefer them to not add any new hairstyles but make all the current hairstyles available to everyone. Like mentioned before, it's already in the game.

 

The rework hairstyles were such a letdown. They actually had to add 17 new hairstyles, but from the customization PoV your class got only 1 hairstyle, on top of that it was mostly something similar to what this already had. Yeah some of these hairstyles were nice but for so many you would actually want another class' hairstyle because that's what was missing.

 

It feels like they're shooting themselves in the foot because they make and add so many outfits/hairstyles to the game, but the customization feels very very limiting because your class only ever gets 1/23rd of that, which is usually like 1 item. I can understand they have this idea of classes having unique looks, and this translates into class-specific outfits and faces of certain ethnicy. But this does not work for hairstyles really, especially since 90%+ hairstyles are not exclusive at all, they're just shared randomly across a couple of classes. There's no reason a nova shares a hairstyle with a corsair and a shai but not a sorc.

 

Making more (ideally all, and start with the newest ones) hairstyles available for all classes of the same gender has so many advantages:

 

1. It makes customization insanely better without actually adding anything new to the game. Each class is probably missing like 10+ hairstyles.
2. Having a bigger variety of pre-set options reduces the need for the editable hairstyles which are the real killer for the performance.
3. It should be so much less work than adding new hairstyles. It's actually so lazy and so good. Sure, I bet some of these hairstyles might need some adjusting for another class' model but it's definitely less work than creating new ones from scratch like the rework hairstyles.

 

Seriously the rework hairstyles must have been so much more work and time for so much less payoff. Start with making the rework hairstyles cross-class so they're actually worth it. Then add the other older hairstyles to all classes. Limit the editability if you have to, it's understandable. You don't have to worry about adding completely new hairstyles until you have fixed this.

 

If RBG palettes were possible, I'm sure that shared hairstyles are too.

Right, seems like a win win for them too, dont have to make new content just make old accessible to all respectively

They might actually be telling the truth.  You'd have to extract game assets to know for sure, but just from my observation with spending ridiculous amounts of time in character creation, it seems like the actual head shapes and textures differ between the classes so they probably do need class-specific hair meshes with the right scalp, otherwise you'd see holes and/or clipping and skintone mismatch.

 

I mean, they could have designed every class with scalp verteces in exactly the same xyz locations so the hair wouldn't be class-specific, but the game would have had to be designed that way from the beginning.  Doing it this way also gave them more freedom in how differently the classes look from each other rather than other games where you can make one character and change its class.

No, noone of his points was valid. Even if you extract the game assets, you can not check whether they lie or not. You would need their engine's code to check it.

On the other hand, anyoen with knowdolage on the subject see it clearly that they lie their ass off. You need an extremely terrible architecture to make such stuff affect performance. It's literately harder to pull it off than not, which is kinda silly.

 

They simply lazzy, and don't want to bother with that, hence just randomly lied some "reason" why they not do it.
