Hello!

I'm just recently returning to the game and haven't played my Sorc since right after her awakening.  Even after looking though the guide on Discord, I'm still a bit confused on what my normal PvE rotation should be.  Because I suck at trying to remember all the combos, I also usually just try to hotkey as much as possible.  That being said, can anyone help me with a basic rotation that I should be using?

Thanks!

What I personally use is:

Midnight Stinger -> Shadow Eruption -> Turn Back Slash -> Violation (with shards) 2-3 times -> Turn Back Slash -> Grim Reaper's Judgement -> New flow whatever it's called -> repeat / change that up however you want.

A lot of people will use dead hunt in between each violation, I don't really like how it flows so I don't, I will use the space bar skill instead as I've found it's similar damage and I like how it flows better but it's not necessarily any faster to throw it in vs just spamming violation in my experience.

I have crit and monster damage on Shadow Eruption, -dp and -eva on TBS, back attack damage and mana recovery on violation. If I could recall my other add-ons I would tell you but I'll have to wait until tomorrow to post a picture of them. All the same, for the time being I hope this helps you and I wish you luck. Don't be afraid to just try stuff too, some people prefer crit and monster damage on the new move which flows into Vio spam really well, up to you.

Highly, highly recommended not to use quick-slots on Sorc, even for PvE.  You could quick-slot DoD, Scattering Shadow (a must for quick slotting), and Shadow Eruption (Rabam), but TBH, you'll benefit soooo much by learning her key presses.  Much smoother, higher DPS, and skills will flow and link together more naturally.

Being said, Haplen's basic skill rotation is on point.  Sorc uses a lot of pre-buffer-type abilities to proc add-ons and modifiers and you can vary your combo widely.  This is a basic skill rotation I use for high-end PvE (where mobs take full combos to kill).

Midnight Stinger > Scattering Shadow > Shadow Eruption > shift + x (the skill name escapes me) > Absolute Darkness > Turn Back Slash cancel (there's a timing to this, where you can animation-cancel TBS after abilities or iframe after C Swap so it comes out really fast) > GRJ > Dead Hunt x2 slashes > Violation with shards > Dead Hunt x2 > Violation with shards > Dead Hunt x2 > Violation with shards > hold LMB for that new ability they gave us > Engulfing Shadow (Rabam) to swap back to pre-awakening to rinse and repeat.  This is very generic, over-arching and basic, my skill rotations vary a little between packs.  I like using Crow Flare > Beat Kick > TBS cancel at times, feels cool to me and procs some modifiers.

Can't think of all my add-ons, but you'll want to invest in Crit, Accuracy, Monster damage (PvE), PvP Damage (for PvP), and Cast Speed.  The -DP add-on, the +% Back Attack, and others are good too, and I'd recommend diversifying your add-ons across your commonly used skills.  Trail and error your add-ons, switch them up, experiment, most everyone has different add-ons tailored for their playstyle / feel.  As long as you don't overlap too much, and put thought into what add-ons you're using according to your skill rotation, you'll be fine.

PS - Use Mana Regeneration add-on on Violation for high-end PvE...this one's, like, a must, unless you got Mana Infinite Pot.

You should adapt your skill rotation to your addons (or the other way around really) what has been said already is pretty on point, but a better more complete rotation of skills would be something like:
Qbuff -> Absolute darkness (magic DP debuff if mobs are tanky) -> Midnight stinger (crit buff) -> scattering shadow (accuracy buff) -> shadow eruption (only for addons if you dont have addons skip it) -> Cswap (might be easier for new players to iframe C swap to better cancel tbs, but up to you, you can use the iframe to get back dmg on tbs)->canceled TBS (eva debuff + addons) -> GRJ +spacebar (dmg and addons, would be nice to position the hit on the back of the mobs) -> Soul reaper (dmg/addons, can be skipped) -> Vio/dead hunt spam (main dps and addons if you have them on dead hunt, other wise can skip dead hunt and cancel the vio with side lmb, try to land as many back attacks as possible) if properly done you should have a 10 second skill rotation, you can fill whatever and whenever with dod, bloody, engulfing shadow etc
If mobs can be knocked down try to abuse down dmg with cartians, GRJ and engulfing as vio spam is less effective if you cant get back attacks.

NO HOTKEYS, you cant really play sorc with hotkeys without it being super clunky and slow. Some skills can and must be used from hotkey but those are the exception and not really used in pve except maybe soulreaper and rage absorption if you have it locked.

And as Peace in Chaos has said, you want cast speed addon and crit addon addon to have 100% uptime during pve and pvp, so is not a bad idea to add those addons to SE or TBS as they are both easy to apply in pvp and fairly used on pve. Other than that is up to you really but common skills to put addons are GRJ, VIO, dead hunt, TBS, SE, Cartians, DoD and Bloody (so pretty much try to avoid tier 1 addons).
