Agreed. Palm is down, facing back into image as I see it.
With forearm raised, it is not a natural or comfortable pose though, for humans. For Shais? Well, I wouldn't know about that.
But, in any case, the hand is not the picture and, rightly framed, is simply a part of this remarkable image.
