PA lost their vision. This is another (big) brick from underneath the wobbly Jenga tower that is bdo's PvP scene, and by extension the last remaining form of meaningful (by game design) social interaction in the game.

2025 BDO will be the true single player mmorpg experience, where you might talk to someone once in server chat about the price of caphras on the indirect market place, or congratulate a guildie on their newest milestone. 

2025 BDO will have grind spots devoid of life, except for those people that are on Marni cool down, grinding ontop of eachother like current seasonal servers, annoying eachother so much that the extra time saves from Marni realms is lost.

Take my upvote! But I do have somewhat a controversial opinion but that's because I'm a PvEr and not a PvPer. I ask that people kindly read it through.

I like PvE and only PvE. Lifeskills is great and the reason why I don't like PvP is because when I play I want to relax and not think much, I'm tired and don't want to deal with other people. I enjoy this part. But on a weekend, I wouldn't be opposed to PvP when I'm alert and awake and have time to kill. The issue I have with PvP is that it is heavily reliant on the idea that classes are balanced and you can fight each other on equal footing. This is fine in street fighter but not in BDO. So I detest the idea of PvP as a shai because i'm literally at the bottom of the totem pole. I have zero ability to 1 on 1. This is because PA for whatever reason decided that Shai does not have a gameplay style choice. You are a supporter and that's all there is to it. I strongly believe that they need to revise their stance so that they are no longer simply a supporting class but also have the choice between succession and awakening so to speak. PS. 1 minute buffs is BS. It takes away from grind time and is another reason why shai does not make good silver/hr.

If they want to get rid of open world PvP outside of arsha, I'm fine with this but with that change then they should consider the implications. They need to make sure that griefing can be prevented such as mob feeding or overgrinding. As it stands, there is zero purpose to be a red player, there are no benefits and there are no plans to even enhance features that would support this game style. The only kind of player who would enjoy being red are griefers because it's the only kind of content that exists for players who are red. BDO had a vision to balance the good and evil in the game but that swiftly ended and we've never heard of it since its inception. I don't know where BDO is heading but I will say that it is unfair to those who enjoy PvP and it will open up a lot of unforseen griefing for PvErs. I played as a red player in another game before, it was fun because it was balanced in its own way. There is no balance here, only penalties. So as the game stands, it makes no sense to just change the game completely like this. A lot more thought needs to put into it. If that was the case, then please, be open with us because we don't know what the grand plans are for the future and can only assume this idea will backfire.

If PvE is that important, then expanding on Marni's realm like agris is probably the ideal way to go instead of butchering open world PvP. But I don't know what the ideal outcome would be to appeal to both worlds, I just know that these changes are likely not going to be for the better of BDO as a whole.

Anyway, that's my hot take on this.

Lost Ark killed thier own game by being stupid.

WoW killed their game by being stupid.

New World killed their game by being stupid.

PA Don't kill your game by implementing stupid changes.

This change is a direct attack on BDO's idenity as a Open World PvP MMO. 

I understand the need for new players for the game to prosper. But making sweeping changes to open world PvP directly effects the vet players who have stuck with this game for years. We had what we wanted and your slowly taking it away. 

If PA really wants to move in this direction, there needs to be equel trade to the existing players.

And lets be hoenst, running a rotation backwards over someone else unable to be killed is way more toxic than figthing over a grind spot. 

As a Reformed 6x Chat Ban Champion of  2022 I feel obligated to give my two cents on this matter. If PA wants to kill open would PvP then this is how they do it.

I have a lot I'd like to say, but no time at the moment to currently type it all out; however, I will do so a bit later. I just wanted to add in these other player's posts to add to and piggyback from this post. I have posted them in no particular order and add more links to the list as I see them. I give no favor to one more than the other at this time. There are opinions and ideas I like/don't like from each, but I also have my own. 
I encourage everyone to interact with this original forum post, and the others, with your sincere opinions and ideas in a civilized way and avoid swearing. At the end of the day, we all love and want to play BDO, and we are supposed to be a community working together for the best outcome for all players. We should not be so spiteful, and certainly not boastful that other players' experiences in the game could be ruined. Please try to treat others with respect as we discuss this clearly divisive issue.

I don't PvP, I hate getting PKed, but they should not do what they have threatened to do.

The essence of this game is: play at your own risk.

Fuss with that and the game is dead.  But, they've been doing their best to ruin this game for the past two years..... maybe that's their goal.  Still, I don't want them to ruin this game.  It's been suffering enough.

I wouldn't mind more postive group combat content.  It saddens me that when I see a white square appear on my mini-map, I think: uh oh... who is that who will try to kill me?.....  I should feel glad to see that another person is here to play the game I love to play.  Players should not be seen solely as threats or obstacles.  But players should be free to interact freely.  If you make PvE servers, you will divide the playerbase.

That should not happen.  It will kill this game.

Instead, PA should think deeply on this (I sometimes wonder if they can, given the lack of polish and balance on new content after weeks of testing, and ruining of perfectly fine systems [soundtracks, sound effects, animations] just to appease a couple people or to be lazy....), perhaps initiate open forums on this issue specifically, and come to a universal consensus, or come up with balanced pros and cons of playing red, or standing up against red players.  Perhaps red quests based in rogue cities, a balanced reward system for killing red characters...... It can happen.  We just need to put a lot of serious thought into it.

We should not scrap the defining system of this game.  BDO is open world PvP.

I'm looking forward to this.

But then, no matter what other people claim, there's more to this game than PvP... and my experience with Open World PvP has always been that it's about ganking and griefing. I just assume everyone who's upset by this is mad they won't have as many victims to go after.

I'm definitely more willing to stick around and spend money if I don't have to worry about as many people trying to make the game less fun for me.
